Our Story

Classic rock, golden age country and blues is the forte of this group of Metis musicians from Kinosota, a small farming community on the west shore of Lake Manitoba. Formed as an alternative to traditional fiddle music popularized by their ancestral families and musical peers, The Red River Rebels boast 100 plus years of musical mileage that has travelled through Manitoba, Canada and the United States.


Frontman Malcolm Campbell is a singer/songwriter/recording artist whose debut album "Interstate Blues" was nominated for Blues Album of the Year at the 2018 Indigenous Music Awards. Two singles from the album, "She's Gone" and "Red River Blues" reached number 1 and 9 respectively on the nationally syndicated Indigenous Music Countdown and continue in regular rotation on SXM Indigiverse and various online radio programs.

Rounding the group, Michale Campbell vocalist and bass guitarist who released a solo album entitled "Coming Home". With the two most recent additions to this multigenerational band, Malcolm's youngest sons; Cole Campbell on Drums and Owen Campbell on guitar.

From Merle Haggard to Eric Clapton and artists in between, Malcolm Campbell and The Red River Rebels aim to entertain with their own take on the music that shaped generations and defined genres.. good time music for your good time.
